Become a family therapist
Through our full-time master's degree, we prepare students to assess for individual and family risk and to foster resilience
and positive transformation in the face of adversity. Students learn theory and skills essential to practicing in the field of marriage and family therapywhile developing their own personalized therapy model. The accredited degree program is part of the Department of Human Development and Family Science. Upon completion, graduates are qualified to sit for the national Marriage and Family Therapy licensing
exam, to apply for licensure in Oklahoma and most other states and to enter a doctoral
program for further study.
Clinical Training
Our students gain valuable experience and preparation while completing supervised
clinical training in the Marriage and Family Therapy Clinic. This state-of-art, on-campus clinic serves individuals, couples and families with a mission to provide high-quality, low-cost marriage and family therapy services to OSU faculty,
staff, students and the Stillwater community.
